In The Beginning I Was The Only One To Love The Network Marketing Team

You are probably trying to figure out what I could be talking about "Love My Network Marketing Team To Success?"
Yesterday I talked about how to control your emotions in your network marketing team building!
If you have not been a mentor a team leader this may be strange to you. But what I am talking about is to be able to see your network marketing team where they can be! You can't do their work for them, you have to give them clear directions and steps to achieve what they want!

First there was one...

Then at the beginning when I was just starting out I had a mentor. I have had good ones and not so good ones! As you will see in my video today I will talk about a missing ingredient that needs to be in your process with your network marketing team. But I will give you a little story first. When I first started out like most people I had never been in network marketing before let alone have my own network marketing team.

In the beginning my mentor had to give me assignments and help me get into the habit of doing certain activities that would grow me into a leader. One of the first things that happened was that I got put on leadership calls. Well I bet the majority have not had that happen. Of course I was so scared, I used to be scared at anything, in fact they called me “The Lady From The Mountains of Colorado, Scared Of Her Own Shadow”. I really didn’t like that title, so maybe that was the first “love” a little goad to make me want to be thought of as a leader. Remember this was before I had my own Network Marketing Team.

Then a network marketing team began..

I set my first goal, and it was lofty. We had a leader board that was the top 20. They were the ones who reached the top volume of the month. The average was 20,000. So my first goal was to reach that board and hit the top of it. Of course that meant that I had to build my own Network Marketing team. So I went to work, and guess what? I did reach that goal! So can you guess who was the first team member? Yes it was me! Before you can build your own network marketing team you have to nurture yourself!

I Became A Leader And I Started Building My Own Network Marketing Team

In order to reach that 20,000 volume it required learning those skills such as retail sales, and recruiting. It was not easy, and it was scary! And one of the first times I was on one of those calls we did for our new people I was petrified. But over time I began to look forward to them, I began to love the new network marketing team that I was building. I began to know them, and what they needed. I began to share with them the success I had and how so that they could follow. I began to see them where they could be. And so we talk about love today on Valentine’s Day. This is a different kind of love, the ability to see them where they could be, to help them catch the vision!

How To Become A Leader And Start Building Your Own Network Marketing Team

When you sponsor someone into your organization you have a moral obligation to teach them how to grow their business (as long as they are open to your assistance, of course). In my book what that means is that you teach them everything you know and support all that they are doing to begin their business. As a good leader of a network marketing team, you want to share information, motivate, facilitate and educate your team.

Here is the thing I would like you to get from this today: you first must love and nurture yourself. You must nurture your dream. You must set goals for yourself. There are a lot of people that say just do blogging an advertising. There are others that say you have to go meet people. Now there are all kinds of styles.

I have reviewed hundreds of blogs, where I can't even find the place to join it (not talking rss) I am talking like google connect or networked blogs. I have found Twitter accounts where they are supposed to be in business but they lock their tweets. I have clicked on the Facebook link and the only thing you go to is a like page, with a company name, and an imposing picture that is neither attractive nor inviting.

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't want to like your page, until I have a chance to "like" you. I want to get to know you, and what you are about. In my opinion those things above are "closed" signs. It’s saying you can like my page, but I am not going to let you in to see the real me, I won't do business with someone I have to dig to find.

Make sure that they can join your blog either via RSS feed or by joining the blog.

First and foremost you are marketing yourself. People have to be able to connect with you in order to trust in what you’re offering. To be open for business means you need to market yourself as well as your product and service. Networking is about long term relationships and support. Networking is not about forcing sales. You may network with people who never join your service or buy your product. Some like to do it online, I have tried that and found I have to use goodold-fashionspaper and pen. I have what some would call a day book. I start a new sheet of paper for each day. I have the date on it. It is in a loose-leafnotebook. I write my projected goals across the top. Then I have a running list of things to accomplish (keep short and concise). Then I have after that specific things I must do today. Then in the space left is notes on calls and other contacts. When I go back, I can see what I did and who I talked to.

I am sure I could find many things on the internet, but I think my own story will be better in this post.

I am no different than anyone I am sure. Well, except for one thing. I am Living Your MLM Dreams! I dream of better things in my life. I am surprised how many I meet have either stopped dreaming, or they have never let themselves dream. Sometimes I met people that had failures, and they interpreted that to mean they can't Live Their MLM Dreams or can't have dream so they pulled back and stayed in their painful, miserable, and small place, believing it to be safe.

So...How Do You Live Your MLM Dreams —

MLM Dream For Your Future?

Now don't take me wrong, I have no desire to get up in an airplane and drop out of it depending on a little bit of plastic to bring me safely to the ground. I do though believe that when you can see something in your head, and if the picture can be developed that the subconscious doesn't know the difference. I know that because in the past I was really excellent at making bad dreams come true. Sometimes they happened exactly like the bad dreams I had!

Creating Positive MLM Dream For Your Future!

Do you remember a nightmare so vividly even years later? Do you have worries that you keep drawing them out in your head, every possible scenario? So see you are good at it too!
 

So I got to figuring if I can create something I don't want, and it happens with that much accuracy, then its really a matter of reversing my thinking to see vivid positive pictures. I am going to give you a formula to do that. Think of one of those worries that you have created yes you brought on that one by giving it a vivid picture, now turn around and see that same thing in a positive light. Like those movies where they turn back the reel and everything goes backwards. What if you saw the good outcome that you wanted just as vividly?
 

Creating The MLM Dream (Positive this time)

 

But without a doubt now, because I have started to practice "positive dreaming" instead of "negative dreaming", I have seen results, and they were the ones that I wanted. You see, my philosophy is that it is like a muscle. When we exercise a muscle, it takes a certain amount of time before that muscle develops. When a woman has a baby, we know that it will be somewhere between 9–10 months before it is born. Why should making a dream happen be any different. And if a temporary failure is the result, that just means to me that I need to think about the path I took to that dream, it may need adjustment, not throw out the dream!

Exercise:

Before you go to bed, sit in a comfortable place and see yourself masterfully doing something that you may not be good at now, such as giving a presentation, receiving an award at your convention, or getting a large check for your efforts. Now sit and draw it out, don't let anything distract you. When you see it in detail, open your eyes, and write it out on paper, with as much detail as you can. Now go to bed with that picture, now don't taint it by watching negative news!!

So What Do I Mean By Building Relationships?

Just like in our everyday lives, we are always in that mode. We get into the Internet and suddenly we forget that somehow! If I were going to a party I would not jump on someone I just met and insist they drop everything and go to my website that minute.

And What do I Mean By Predator?

I know that sounds like a scary word, PREDATOR — but isn't that what it is when people just pounce on you? They are hoping to catch you off guard, to push the right button. They want to get you in your weak spot.

There is a big problem in that kind of marketing; people change their mind, its called remorse. So what did you gain by getting to them emotionally? Worse yet if you pushed buttons such as fear, guilt, or shame. Yes of course people have those feelings, but when we use that to get a sale, its not building the kind of long-termrelationshipthatwewantwiththat person.

So How Do We Do It Right?

TIME. That can be a big word in today's world. Everyone wants an instant result. We live in a micro-waveworld. Even the network marketing / sales world talks about "easy-instantmoney." Get it today, make money in just a few hours!! Wow! In the real world if you are truly looking to build a business that really is here to last forever, its not instant.

In the real world its about real people, with real problems, with real needs. If you create value by solving their problems then you build the trust, that builds the relationship, that creates the long-lastinglong-rangeincome. Yes you can do the Kamikaze approach, but they are wary of you, they don't trust you.

I had a call yesterday that gives you a really good illustration:

Now I am not a newbie. I have done this for sometime.

I get this call, a woman, she was pretty pushy. She had an approach that she wanted me to listen to this 5-minute call, so I could learn how to get people to call me. Now actually its funny because I do have people calling me, and getting into my business, but I was polite. I listened to her "pitch".

Here is her mistakes so you can learn what not to do.

1. She mentioned a dead website from a company I was no longer in, soshehadoldout-datedinformation, and she didn't check to see if it was correct.
2. She didn't ask me whether I wanted what she had, but she tried to make me feel guilty, or foolish by not doing what she instructed.
3. She really didn't ask me questions or show any concern about what my needs would be.

Well guess what, do you think I went right away and made that call? BIG NO! I wrote it down, and then when I got off the call, I filed it in file 13, without even the slightest temptation.

Why, she can make a big pitch, but she didn't really care whether it was what I wanted. She didn't take the time to find out whether I wanted it.

And she didn't take the time to check up afterward, the next day.

Yes that big word follow-up.

So What makes that a predator approach?

Swoop down make the kill, go away, not come back.

I getthaton-linetoo. So how do we make it work?

We don't use "attack mode" for sure. Give people valuable information, and give them the choice, and treat them always always always with great respect. Solve their problems. Find ways to be valuable, they seek you out! They do for me, they will for you.

1. Get acquainted —thatsoundsold-fashioned, but how do you do it another way, find out about them, what are their needs.
2. Ask good open questions the (Oh, this is the hard part are you ready?) We close our mouths, and open our ears, and its amazing the things we might find out.
3. When we do talk its to clarify, to ask more questions, to offer suggestions, (not our pitch) and to see how we can help.
4. Only after we have established some rapport do we have the opportunity if they are ready -- to offer what we have. and if we are listening we will know when that is.
5. This is another tough one, sometimes we have to give without an expectation of something in return. The rewards may be just that it makes you feel good!

MLM Network Marketing The First Tool Is Faith, In Yourself!

Sometimes When We Are Just At The Edge Of Giving Up, We Just Need To Hang On A Little Longer!

And I have found this to be true, now I am not preaching and I respect your personal beliefs, but I had to share this as we approach the Christmas season:

One of my new favorite books is "Its Your Time" by Joel Osteen. In the first chapter he tells us about this man who had this painting on his wall. The painting had this beat up boat on the shore with the ores out of the boat. On the same caption, it read the tide always comes back. Sometimes that is how people feel, when they feel like everything they have tried has just left them "marooned, on a strange shore." But just like that caption relates, we must believe that help is on the way. If we are willing to keep on with the faith and hope.

And if you have lost hope then "Get your hopes up. Raise your expectations. Your best days are in front of you. This is exactly the moment to put your faith into action and expect God's blessings. Its your time to declare your faith, to look for God's favor, and to give control of your life to Him so that you can find fulfillment in His plans for you! The most difficult part about faith is that its not faith, if you have to wait for something to happen before you will believe. Faith is a "belief in things that are not yet evident." It starts with your faith in yourself, and if you haven't yet found that, then lean on the faith of your mentor. If you do not have a mentor with faith in you, borrow me, I believe in you!

Faith is one of the most misunderstood things we need to do, listen and find some new hope.

Mentoring and systems make it easier to navigate the storm.

I have applied this in my life, no matter what you believe some want to call it other things, we know we have times we need more. I have built a strong faith and it starts inside. I have also found that we must have people around us that help us accomplish our dreams. Mentors and teaches are often the greatest influence on us.

Life In Your MLM Will Either Be An Obstacle Or Blessing But It Is Not Convenient!

I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or, who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count.

Today I share some good starting points to be prepared when building your business. This is mostly offline, but you also want to be thinking about this online as well. Check out point 8 for that.

1. Start the day with a strong anticipation that you will have opportunities to share today.  Plan the day use some kind of calendar and write appointments down. This sounds like a no brainer, but if I don't get it into a calendar, its really easy to forget because there is so much going on.
2.  Keep you eyes and ears open as you go through your day, it might actually come from a direction that you don't expect.  I often get phone calls or e-mails from people I have not heard from or I find new ways to do things just by listening and paying attention.
3. Make sure and also be open to places where you frequent often, people are watching you, especially if you have already exposed them to the business.  Make sure I am willing to do business, that sounds funny but there is something inside that may be not so open to new ways to do things.
4. Be prepared, have you materials, hand-outs or samples with you, I have a great little newsletter that is attractive and easy to carry.  It never fails if I don't bring business cards with me or my cell I will meet someone that I wish I had it for. It just doesn't leave the same impression to write on a scrap of paper!  
5. Do it in front of people, be an example, if you have told others about your product, then have it with you, use it in front of people. Like I have a great energy drink that comes in convenient little tubes, I open it pour it into water shake it, and it makes this very interesting green drink, always gets a comment or two! If you are proud of your product, why not be using it in front of people, they will ask, its easier than being a salesman!
6. Listen, and ask questions, be interested in others, they like to talk about themselves and then you find out what their needs are, and you just might find something that you can help them with, then I say "Would you like to do something about that?"  I always try to be really interested in people, be more about finding out about them than telling all about me and my product.
7. I use a sample of my product and a business card (this can be online as well) as part of the tip. I then make sure I have my server's name. I try to get that same server at least twice, then I approach them on my business.  Waiters love this. Well only if you don't go cheap on the tip, they still need to get that. The sample is a bonus!
8. Funnel and Keep Your Prospects In The Loop. This one is probably the most key of all of them. If you don't have a way to capture their name and e-mail and keep in touch how can you know when they are ready to move with it. I use a funnel that is a blogging platform. It is something every serious online marketer really needs! And Don't I repeat Don't leave money on the table. So Use a combination of Affiliate funnel and your primary! Learn the skills and learn how to leverage your time.

Most of these can be adapted to online. I use a funnel to capture my leads!

Life isn't convenient, there will always be obstacles so when you are prepared with the above points you are always doing business. Here are some thoughts about not just waiting until it is convenient.

I have a game I used to play

 

It was called spheres. Matching these colored spheres. When I lost a voice came on that said "game over", but here is the thing, the "game over" is in your head sometimes even before you begin. What if you shut that voice off?  

The Challenge of the Game Of Network Marketing is.. 

It looks like it should be pretty easy! There is a built in optical illusion and a built in trap here. It takes logic, tact and patience to master this game. And so it is also in MLM Network Marketing. The big tap door in this game is that there is the illusion that it is going to be fast and easy. I am not going to promise you that it is easy, but I will promise you that if you have faith in it, it will be worth it. The game here is not about spheres but real people. And the emotional kicker is that you have to stop making it about yourself. And that is what most do. That illusion is when you really get into the game of helping other people you start helping yourself, but never before that!  

The Game Of Network Marketing

It also takes the same thing in business especially in MLM Network marketing. There is logic, tact and patience needed to master this game also. There are skills that you must learn, especially if you are also going to master it. You will not get it overnight. It is not a game of lotto. But the rewards are much bigger. Can you imagine how it feels to have someone say, "Thank you! You saved my life!" Because that is what we are really in the game for, saving lives. The world out there is crazy, and it is getting crazier by the minute. People are loosing their jobs, and the lives that they knew. They are really scared out of their minds!  

The Game of Patience!

You are not going to master it over night, and on this game, there is no "cheat-sheet" or "short-cut!" The problem here is that there are a lot of people out there promising you that you are going to become a Millionaireover-night. That is very seductive but unfortunately, its a lie! Having patience is not going to be easy. I know I have been there. And it is hard when there are needs now. This is a time of learning, be like a sponge soak up everything. Get with people that can help you! You will make mistakes, instead of seeing those as a failure, see them as part of the process of learning!
 
Mastery Of The Game

The game to be won here is to master yourself first, then to be able to become a leader to other people. If you don't master that, the game really is over! If I could give you one skill you must learn it is self-mastery! Yes before you can master the whole game you must master yourself. You must realize that there are going to be big changes that you have to make. And I say Game on! Check out the new Empowered Network Blog everyone is raving about!
