Becoming a leader is a process and the first part of that is becoming an example

Before we can expect anyone to follow us we need to be someone that we would follow! 
I know that sounds backwards but think about it, who do you admire? Why do you follow them? They have special qualities that make them attractive. I betcha one major thing is that they show you a good example!

We must be able to actually do what we tell others to do. Remember the old saying, "Do what I say not what I do!" Well that doesn't work, we do pay attention to what someone does. If their actions don't match what they say we are not going to follow. Well, if that is how we act, then it stands to reason that is how we must be. 


Part of giving someone direction is giving them a map, good directions. And part of giving good directions is to have "Walked the walk, and Talked the talk!" Our new people more than anything need a good guide, we are only as good as what we know!
